The first day of instruction for the newly minted BFA candidates and I met for the first time. We briefly went over the course syllabus, took some time to ask them what they thought this class was for. I also asked why they were studying design and learned that everyone had unique goals and backgrounds coming into design: industrial design, architecture, computer science, advertising, art, etc.
A small project was given, to see how students addressed problem solving. In preparation for the first project they were to create a flip book using 2 x 2 post-it notes. It was to be at least 1/2 inch thick and on standard yellow color post-it notes. I am curious as to how people will address this small project.
Once the FTP space is assigned, I will try have the class documents available on this blog.
